As the Darkness Shines

As the darkness shines . . .

The Longer nights are in.

The time is here, for a little while now, for the darkness to shine.

To show us whats hiding in the dusty corners of our minds, our stories, our souls.

We are taught to be afraid of the dark. One of the many things we were taught wrong for ions.

Why I ask?

Fear I reply.

Now I realize the darkness was our friend all along.

It is the place where we get to do the most private, important, life changing work.

The place we learn to breath and be silent, to listen to every movement in the dark forest.

To sense danger. To deeply sense ourselves. To entertain our bodies and spirit with another.

In love.

When writing this, some of us were just finishing celebrating the holiday of lights, Chanukah. For 8 days illuminating each day with more light, another candle, when the skies become darker sooner. Christmas was just around the corner with its decorative lights brightening the inside and outside of people’s homes.

How brilliantly it is all played out, in this time when we start get a bit gloomy, yet our homes filled with more light daily to remind us the light always comes from within. To give hope to those still in the dark.

And whats within, so without.

In these days, where an invisible enemy is still more frightening to most than the dangers right in front of them and loss of freedom left and right, we need to remember that it is, in the night that we become most alert. Our pupils expand trying to see, our hearing sharpens, our steps slow and conscious, every movement calculated, our breath quiet.

It is in that space we can feel the beating of our hearts and the flow of our red life fluid running through our veins.

So should we be afraid or should we embrace the time of deep introspection?

Can we slow down our pace during the time the sun is less around?

Can we turn on our night vision, our 3rd eye more, through breath and meditation?

Can we remember the night is our blessing. Where so much magic happens. When we dream and travel through different dimensions, experiencing, getting messages, when we can love in ways we don’t love in the sun?

Can we listen more deeply?

Can we see more clearly?

In the slow of the night let us go inwards, for the world is pulling so strongly to step more and more outside of ourselves.

Maybe the darkness is the gift that directs us all back in.

And so as within so without.

I Love you

Light.   Peace.   Love

Embrace the Dark - Sleep Routine Tip.1

When night comes, right before you tuck yourself in, sit in your bed comfortably.

The lights off. Shades closed. No night light. No candles.

For s moment keep your eyes open.

Scan the room.

Scan the ceiling, then scan the palms of your hands.

Move them a bit in a slow dance and track them with your gaze.

Now, rub them together, creating heat. Bring them to cover your eyes, warm and comforting. Keeping your eyes closed, slide you hands gently down to your throat and place the right hand there, and the left sliding down to reach your heart.

Take a deep breath in and sigh it out with a hum. Hmmmm

Feel the vibrations from the back of your throat traveling to your hands. Hmmmm

Float your hands down along the front of your body, caressing, gently moving down and up your legs. Give love to yourself. Hug yourself. Feel your arms as you hands travel up and down caressing gently, holding softly.

Bow your head to your heart in reverence of the magical being that you are.

In reverence of all the dark nights you walked through and lived to tell.

Make tonight a sweet night story.

Where the darkness is a trusted friend for exploration, for introspection, for feeling deeply.

And as you slide slowly under your blanket, laying safely in your bed, cover your eyes with your hands again and offer a prayer to the light that is within everything, including in the night.

Offer your own prayer of gratitude, a prayer for strength, a prayer for remembering your soul essence and a prayer for dreams to guide you back, to the only home you truly have deep within yourself.

Thank the night for its gifts of rest and healing, for discovery and silence,

For its mysteries and wonder.

Deep breath in and out. In and out. In and out. Sweet dreams beautiful soul, may the night be filled with sweet sweet dreams….

Light Peace and Love
