Why Sound Meditation?
For Ions, Healers, Shamans, Wise women, men and tribes throughout history deeply connected to the rhythm of mother earth and father sky intuitively knew that:
All is frequency and vibrations.
Matter is frequency slowing itself down to form it.
The metaphysical becomes the physical.
In essence, everything is sound.
Science, my friends, is just now catching up
Through the practice of different modalities, one is led to take their journey inwards.
Sound meditation is a powerful way to create a safe space which allows one to enter a state of deep calm, quiet the mind, creating an ideal state to allow for brain entrainment assisting in letting go of habits one no longer desires to be overtaken by, making room for new ways of self expression.
It has the power to support one in managing depression, Increase self awareness, and encourages states of compassion, empathy and love to one’s self which is the catalyst for being able to have true unconditional love to all of creation and its beings.
Human beings are made of about 70% water. Being that Sound travels 4 times faster in water, we can understand and appreciate how greatly we are effected by the vibrations around us.
Every organ and every cell carry their own frequency. The sound waves created by overtone emitting instruments such as Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, bells, chimes and other harmonious instruments have the ability to allow us to move into a meditative state almost effortlessly and alter our brain activity from normal waking state (beta) to relaxed state (alpha), dreamlike state (theta), and possibly even restorative state (delta).
As the brain and body begin to settle and relax deeper into the experience of sound, the heart rate and blood pressure may decrease, breathing becomes deeper and calmer allowing the activation of the parasympathetic nervous system, where deep healing can occur.
We may experience Better sleep, pain reduction, detoxification of the body , all of which lead to and supports a stronger immune system.
As the vibrations move through and around the physical body, the effect of the emotional body can be expected to be felt during a sound meditation. This allows an opening for trapped or even unconscious emotions to surface and any energy that is ready to be released to flow out of our system. It may touch us at the root level. When this occurs we are encouraged to feel and observe with no judgment of what might come up. As what comes up is ready to be released out of our physical and energetic bodies.
Fun fact :
The activation of the Vagus nerve, the tenth cranial nerve which interfaces with the parasympathetic control of the heart, lungs, and digestive tract is activated by ones own humming sound. A proof that your voice is a free tool for healing yourself. How brilliant is that?
Sound journey is a sacred beautiful way to celebrate love, life cycle events, family, friendships or simply spend time connecting deeper with loved ones, colleagues, strangers and most importantly to one’s self.
